Hello & Happy Friday!

The weather this weekend looks to be moving in a warmer direction! Woo hoo! I plan to spend it having a ladies weekend with my mom and some other wonderful women in my life. It'll be so nice to get away from my desk and have some great meals out, look at some wonderful art and maybe antique shop a little. In any case I know I'll be laughing a lot!

Before I hit the road I have some business to take care of here, don't I?! I want to thank everyone who took the time to visit my blog and leave a comment for a chance to win a scrap bag of fabric. I'm so enjoying this new chapter in my design life and meeting and talking to wonderful quilters and crafters like you all has been the best part!

For the giveaway drawing I've made 2 lists according to which fabric collection you are interested in & if you liked both you went on both lists.
I used a random list generator to choose the winners and they are:

Wrens & Friends

Caren - "I like BOTH of them a lot! Maybe Wrens & Friends because it would be better for a wider gift-recipient list (I'd love to make some little wristlet/purses)!"

Nortiness - "I love the idea of scrap quilts! Unfortunately I don't have near enough scraps yet or even in enough colors to make anything :( this would be perfect! :)"

Sewing Box

Charlottle L - "Wow! I LOVE scraps! Id love either but I guess Sewing box would be first. Thanks for the chance."

Cheryl - "I would love to win this for our quilt ministry!! We are a new ministry started in July 2013. We have thrived on donated scraps giving away 19 completed quilts to date."

So if you are a winner please contact me on Facebook or through email to give me your address and a very heavy box will be coming to you next week! I hope you'll be sure to share photos of any projects you end up making with these scraps. I would love to see them! Thank you!

Scraptastic Giveaway!

One of the perks of designing fabric for Moda is the amount of fabric samples they send me. They are VERY generous with the fat quarter bundles and layer cakes and those cute little mini charms. Imagine my surprise when a 50 pound box of scrap showed up at my door. I had no idea it was coming nor what to do with it all once I dragged it into the house!

This is just half of one box…overwhelming isn't it??

I've pulled part of it out to donate to a charity quilting organization, but I thought I would give away the rest. The scraps vary in width from 1 to 3 or so inches. I think they would make some really cute string quilts or other small projects. I've put together 4 scrap bags - 2 each of my first two fabric collections; Sewing Box and Wrens & Friends. So if you are a scrap collector and would like to have a part of this stash please post a comment letting me know which collection you would like and what you think you would make with it all. I'll post the winners next friday morning January 17th! Good luck!

Stitchin' Post Project

I think one of my favorite things to come out of my new relationship with Moda is seeing what sewers and crafters choose to make out of my fabric. I stumbled across this blog post yesterday by Paige at the Stitchin' Post in Sisters, Orgeon.

This placemat and napkin set is such a fun idea and a perfect way to highlight my favorite print in my Wrens & Friends collection. I'm thinking these would make the perfect gift for someone in my family… I better get busy!

You can buy this pattern on their site and while you're at it check out some of the other fun project patterns they have…perfect gifts to sew up in these last few weeks before Christmas!

And, by the way, if you've sewn something with my fabrics, please send me a photo…I would love to see it!
